Accounting Manager

Job Overview

DF Supply, Inc., a leading e-commerce business in Twinsburg, Ohio, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced on-site accounting manager to oversee and optimize the company’s financial operations. This pivotal role is responsible for managing accounting processes, ensuring compliance across all financial activities, and contributing to strategic decision-making that drives profitability and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will bring a combination of technical expertise, leadership, and a hands-on approach to streamline operations and foster continuous improvement.


Responsibilities

Accounting & Financial Management

  • Ensure compliance with sales tax regulations in all 50 states and Canada, including implementation and maintenance of automation tools such as Avalara.
  • Handle international duties, tariffs, and taxes efficiently.
  • Prepare, review, and post journal entries to maintain accurate financial records in compliance with GAAP.
  • Collaborate with external accounting firms for audits, tax filings, and financial reporting.
  • Develop and analyze profit & loss (P&L) statements, balance sheets, and other financial reports to provide actionable insights.
  • Oversee and manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.

Sales & Pricing Oversight

  • Review all sales orders , quotes, proposals to ensure alignment with company profitability goals and desired margins.
  • Monitor and manage retail and wholesale pricing, addressing discrepancies and optimizing pricing strategies.


Operational & Strategic Leadership

  • Lead financial planning, including budgeting and revenue forecasting.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency across accounting and operational workflows.
  • Implement and manage tools for streamlined financial operations.
  • Provide regular reporting and strategic insights to the President to support decision-making.

Continuous Improvement & Compliance

  • Identify opportunities for cost optimization and operational efficiencies.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant tax regulations, contract requirements, and reporting standards.
  • Lead and mentor team members in best practices for accounting and financial management.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting and financial management, preferably in an e-commerce or multi-state business environment.
  • Expertise in multistate sales tax compliance and international taxation.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite or xTuple) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Proven experience with financial reporting, budgeting, and profitability analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA certification or advanced degree in Accounting/Finance.
  • Experience with sales tax automation software (e.g., Avalara).
  • Familiarity with e-commerce operations, pricing strategies, and vendor negotiations.
  • Demonstrated success in leading process improvement initiatives and managing cross-functional projects.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary Range: $75,000 – $120,000 (commensurate with experience).
  • Comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, 401(k), paid time off, paid holidays
